ABOVE THE FOLD

BIG NEWS ON STEP 2 INCOMING — Word is expected to land today that Ontario will enter Step 2 of the reopening plan on June 30, a couple days earlier than expected. Cabinet met yesterday and I’m told by multiple sources that the accelerated timeline was on the agenda.

What it means: Small indoor gatherings of five, bigger outdoor get-togethers of up to 25, shopping malls and retail stores at 25 per cent capacity, and nail salons and barbers (Finance Minister PETER BETHLENFALVY might be happiest about the latter, saying earlier this week: “Nothing’s grown on the top of my head for months and months, but I got a real party going on in the back.”)
