GREENBELT BILL INCOMING — If you’re waiting on tenterhooks for the PCs Greenbelt-reversing legislation, don’t hold your breath — it’s not due out until October 16.
The hold-up, according to Housing Minister PAUL CALANDRA: the bill is being translated into French, and will land on the Clerk’s table when the House reconvenes after next week’s Thanksgiving constituency break.
The fine print: “Well, we have to return all of the land obviously, we’re going to…ensure that the additional lands that we promised to put back into the Greenbelt [are enshrined] and we’re restoring the easements that were brought with respect to the agricultural reserve,” Calandra told reporters at Queen’s Park.
Oppo critics say they’ll be parsing the legislation for potential “loopholes.”
