POLL WATCH — Fresh polling suggest the PCs maintain a healthy lead over their opponents as Ontarians stare down the possibility of a snap vote — but Ford may be vulnerable in the 416, and on hot-potato issues.
By the numbers: Liaison Strategies is out with a survey this morning that suggests BONNIE CROMBIE and the Liberals would come out on top ever so slightly in Toronto if an election were held today. Among decided and leaning voters in the city, 35 per cent would vote for the Grits, while 31 per cent would cast their ballot for the PCs. Twenty-nine per cent would pick the NDP, three per cent want a Green and two per cent want someone else entirely. Another 11 per cent are undecided.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, when broken down by neighbourhood, DOUG FORD and the PCs reign supreme in Etobicoke, the heart of Ford Nation, with 45 per cent support. They’d also take 36 per cent in Scarborough. MARIT STILES and the NDP would win downtown with 39 per cent while the Grits claim …
