KATHRYN McGARRY, president of the Ontario Liberal Party, is characterizing Saturday’s provincial council meeting as “passionate,” not fractious — and clarifies what’s really going on with centralized banking.
McGarry is doing a bit of post-council clean-up, pushing back on reports the weekend meeting was more fire than forum.
In an interview, McGarry dismissed suggestions that the meeting — which included a key campaign debrief — got overly intense, saying any tension was limited to a few member-to-member exchanges unrelated to the official agenda.
“It wasn’t anything from the podium,” she said.
While chatter from some grassroots Liberals painted the meeting as fraught, McGarry says the party’s campaign debrief strategy is standard practice and has been happening on a regional basis already, with more still to come, including a debrief for campaign managers this month. A final report is expected later this summer.
