Another day, another major exit from DOUG FORD’s inner circle: PATRICK SACKVILLE, who’s been the Premier’s chief of staff since late 2022, is leaving at the end of the week.
Taking up the mantle is TRAVIS KANN, who’s been steadily rising through the ranks.
Kann has been Ford’s principal secretary since last summer, and before that, he became head of Ontario-U.S. engagement and advocacy — one of the architects of Ford’s tariff-fighting charm offensive south of the border. He’s also served as Ford’s deputy chief of staff for strategy and communications and executive D-Comms. Kann cut his Queen’s Park teeth running comms for then-Deputy Premier and Health Minister CHRISTINE ELLIOTT.
Sackville’s exit comes as Ford loses a bunch of his day-one staffers, including CODY WELTON and IVANA YELICH.
Putting Kann in the gig underscores the Ford government’s “Protect Ontario” approach to U.S. President DONALD TRUMP — something that works for him politically on this side of the border — …
