Q+A: AISLINN CLANCY — The Greens are making a big push for Kitchener Centre.
The seat is still warm — outgoing NDPer LAURA MAE LINDO isn’t officially stepping down until July 13 — and there’s no date yet for the byelection.
But city councillor and Green candidate AISLINN CLANCY isn’t letting that stand in her way. She was first out of the gate of all the candidates so far, will cut the ribbon on her campaign office tonight, and is hoping to pull off the same long-shot win as that of the local federal MP — Ontario’s first Green elected to the Hill.
Here, we talk about her motivation for running, knack for winning, and quest to knock on every single door in her ward.
Why are you running for MPP? This was not the plan. I didn’t grow up thinking I want to be a politician one day — I’m a social worker.
