ABOVE THE FOLD
IN LIBERAL LAND — We’ve got more names and reaction on BONNIE CROMBIE’s campaign crew — but first, the search continues in Milton.
Byelection buzz: Yesterday, we told you about SARAH MARSHALL, the local councillor who was name-checked as the likely Liberal candidate for the soon-to-be-announced byelection in Milton. Multiple sources, including high-ranking party brass and organizers, were told Marshall would very likely carry the party banner.
But, and it’s a biggie: I caught up with Marshall yesterday, and she isn’t interested. “I am not running in the upcoming Milton byelection.”
The hunt is on: Sources tell me the party had reached out to a handful of potential contenders and have narrowed down the search to one or two, with an announcement expected as soon as this week.
What we do know: It’s safe to say that seat-less Crombie, who had mused about a potential bid of her own, will sit this one out. “I’d be shocked if she said she was running,” said one source close to the leader.
On to the next.
CAMPAIGN CREW — Cross-partisan circles are buzzing over my scoop about the big players on Team Crombie for 2026, with plenty more name-dropping.
