Q+A — GRAHAM McGREGOR is a “classic good soldier.”
So say the up-and-comer’s PC allies — as well as his political foes in Liberal and NDP circles. Since last spring when he was first elected in Brampton North, poaching the seat from the New Democrats, he’s been keeping the PC backbench warm — but he’s also been playing the political game.
And that’s made him one of the most name-checked Tories rumoured to get promoted in the summer cabinet shuffle.
It’s not McGregor’s first rodeo. Before becoming an MPP, he was a staffer for fellow Brampton caucus mates PARM GILL and AMARJOT SANDHU.
Now, he’s one of the PCs top fundraisers, a fierce orator in Question Period (even when lobbing friendly softballs), Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism MICHAEL FORD, and a solid team player — case in point: last week’s byelections, when he was pounding the pavement hard in Guildwood alongside cabinet ministers.
