Good Monday morning. This is Queen’s Park Observer.

ABOVE THE FOLD

It’s all about a two-dose summer — the feeling is palpable heading into the week after Sunday’s record-setting mega-clinic at Scotiabank Arena. And as of 8 a.m. this morning, everyone in the 18-plus crew will be eligible to book their second shot — speeding up the timeline for about 1.5 million Ontarians. Youth in 10 Delta hot-spots were able to book as of Saturday.

More positive news in the pipeline: Most of the province (sans Waterloo — more on that below) cracks open for Step 2 on Wednesday. While Ontario has already blown past vaccination benchmarks for Step 3 — 76 per cent of adults have received a first shot and more than 30 per cent are fully immunized — the government is sticking to Step 2 for now to allow vaccines time to take full effect and to gauge the impact of reopening.

There was lots to cheer at yesterday’s mega-clinic at Scotiabank Arena, which hit its target of 25,000 doses administered and then some —…
