SCOOP — The Grits are poised to get a high-profile candidate in their former stronghold of Toronto—St. Paul’s: Dr. NATHAN STALL, a geriatrician at Mount Sinai Hospital and a member of Ontario’s Covid Science Advisory Table.
According to a July 31 email sent to members of the local riding association’s executive, a virtual nomination meeting has been set for August 26 — and so far Stall is the sole contender “who has been vetted and is listed as eligible” to run for the Liberals in 2022.
“We will know by Monday if others choose to submit papers to be vetted or decline to at this time,” wrote local organizer ROB NEWMAN, on behalf of riding president LAUREN SOUCH. If no one challenges Stall, he “will be named by acclamation and speak [at a presentation] on August 19.”
