IN THE 905 — The Ford government is plowing ahead with controversial MZOs that are ruffling feathers in Mississauga.

The MZOs: Housing Minister STEVE CLARK signed off on a pair of Minister’s Zoning Orders — which bypass local consultation and planning processes to fast-track development — that would double the number of units to 16,000 and scrap height limits for some buildings in Lakeview Village.

The developer: Lakeview Community Partners made the request. The group is reportedly made up of a bunch of developers with ties to the PCs, including the De Gasperis family.

City Hall isn’t happy. BONNIE CROMBIE called it “a bridge too far.”

“I’m not opposed to building more housing,” the Mississauga Mayor tweeted. But this “puts at risk the 13 years of hard work we’ve put into shaping this waterfront community. I’ll work to ensure the community’s voice continues to be heard and that the developer…
