The House isn’t back yet, but the brawls sure are. With MPPs set to return to the Legislature next week, the pre-session sparring has officially kicked off, giving a hint on what’s about to come. And MARIT STILES came out swinging.
At a Wednesday newser, the Official Opposition NDP Leader laid out her fall priorities — and her best one-liners — taking aim at DOUG FORD’s latest Home Depot tough-guy anecdote.
To wit: The Premier had bragged about threatening to “kick [the] ass” of a suspected shoplifter (his story checks out, the Star bureau’s fact-checker-in-chief confirmed it.)
But Stiles isn’t buying the bit: “He is not Batman, he is not Captain Canada — when is he going to start being Premier?” she told reporters at Queen’s Park. “He should be chasing down jobs in Ontario, not people across a Home Depot parking lot.”
