Premier DOUG FORD teased a forthcoming omnibus legislation featuring a questionable carbon-pricing referendum — while coming for Liberal Leader BONNIE CROMBIE. Meanwhile, the financial fallout from the Bill 124 court loss continues.
Ford was in Mississauga to pump up the Get It Done Act — a nod to their campaign slogan — which will be tabled when the House reconvenes next week. Its key feature would send future provincial carbon levies to referendum. Per the news release, the omnibus bill will also “streamline approvals for major infrastructure projects and housing” — and, according to the Narwhal, potentially allow expropriation of land before environmental review.
