Two big events are going down today — and they have the potential to rattle the Ford government.
TORY LOVE-IN — Card-carrying PCs are trekking to Niagara Falls tonight for a two-day policy conference where the vibe is expected to be low-key compared to previous conventions. Still, the stakes are high.
Sources tell me registration numbers are lower than anticipated, and while that could do with the fact that it’s the middle of winter, some are wondering if morale is low among the grassroots given the Ford government’s political problems this past year, namely, the Greenbelt. That said, the hotel spots are fully booked.
“It will be a lot of lobbyists and staffers,” said one party source. “Not many average grassroots members are going.”
