Questions and criticism are mounting over the Ford government’s use of the notwithstanding clause to head-off a strike by education workers and to impose a contract on them — so we got some insight on controversial Bill 28 from labour law expert DAVID DOOREY. Meanwhile, the Premier was in court to fight against a summons to testify at the Emergencies Act inquiry. But first — Deputy Premier SYLVIA JONES has been spotted.

JONES WATCH — After testing positive for Covid, the Health Minister was back in the House yesterday.

Jones had been MIA for weeks, and rarely spoken with reporters since taking on her new cabinet role following June’s election.

She faced plenty of criticism for laying low, not least because of the ongoing health care staffing crunch and because she was subpoenaed to testify at the Emergencies Act inquiry regarding her former position as Solicitor General.

Jones is also back on the fundraising circuit. The PCs are hosting a big-ticket $1,000-a-head fundra…
