Premier DOUG FORD was front and centre again on Thursday, as he has been for much of this unofficial campaign summer — eating up all the oxygen in the room and making it more difficult for Oppo parties to get their messaging to stick.
Ford was speaking at that Toronto Region Board of Trade event, where the U.S. election featured heavily.
From the scrums: “I just want whoever gets elected, I don’t care, to work with Ontario, work with Canada, make sure we get this [CUSMA] deal done when it comes up,” Ford told reporters. “They’re famous for saying…buy American. I say buy CanAm — Canadian or American.”
Conservative campaign vet KORY TENEYCKE echoed the sentiment. Via Global: “Whether it’s (Kamala) Harris or (Donald) Trump, the decision will be for Canada: on which side of that tariff do you want to live on?”
