ANOTHER KUMBAYA MOMENT — Premier DOUG FORD handed Toronto Mayor OLIVIA CHOW a giant novelty $114-million bonus cheque for smashing the city’s housing targets. Toronto clocked in with more than 31,000 housing starts last year, roughly 50 per cent more than the provincial target. That means they’ll get an extra slice of the Building Faster Fund pie, to help with infrastructure costs.
Shocker: Ford took the opportunity to slam Liberal Leader BONNIE CROMBIE’s less-than-stellar housing record in Mississauga and to call her out for being cagey on Ottawa’s unpopular carbon tax. “I just need to know: Is she for the carbon tax, or against the carbon tax? That’s a simple question. She needs to answer it and she’ll be held accountable. But make no mistake about it, she is the queen of the carbon tax.”
