TRADE WARS — The chaos south of the border is spilling over onto Ontario’s campaign trail.

President DONALD TRUMP is vowing to place stiff new tariffs on Canada and Mexico no matter what, raising the prospect of a devastating trade war.

How Queen’s Park is reacting: We’ll hear from PC Leader DOUG FORD in Brampton this morning at 10:30 a.m.

Ford made a campaign pit stop in Niagara Falls on Friday to announce a $22-billion infrastructure plan for the region, where he also isn’t ruling out more casinos as part of a tourism push. That’s earned the PCs an endorsement from all local mayors.

Ford, who still hasn’t met with Trump, said he’ll work “hand in hand” with the feds on retaliatory tariffs, and wants to see Canada hit back with a dollar-for-dollar response.

NDP Leader MARIT STILES was in Windsor promising an income protection plan for workers and took the opportunity to bash Ford, who she said “quit his job on the eve of these tariffs to try and secure himself …
