Q+A — For KELLY STEISS, the upcoming byelection in Kitchener Centre is not her first rodeo.
The Grit candidate and city community services worker is no stranger to voters in the riding. She carried the red banner in 2022 — placing third — and ran for Waterloo mayor in 2018. And she’s not the only well-known Steiss around these parts: Her daughter, MADELYN, also vied for Waterloo council in the last round.
The Liberals themselves are familiar, too: Before ex-MPP LAURA MAE LINDO poached the seat for the NDP in 2018’s change election, the riding was repped by Grits going back to 2003.
