MPPs are swapping suit jackets and stilettos for rubber boots and plaid as politicos trek to Grassie for the International Plowing Match — a big to-do on the rural circuit.

But before the tractors start rolling, there’s still plenty of mud flying in Liberal land, where the fallout from BONNIE CROMBIE’s leadership loss is only just beginning.

CAUCUS COP-OUT — Liberal MPPs are pushing back on reports of a full-blown caucus revolt at the party’s AGM.

To wit: The Toronto Star reported that Crombie, fresh off her shaky 57 per cent leadership review, asked her caucus for support — and was met with strong resistance. One insider even told reporter ROB FERGUSON (affectionately known as “Fergie” around these parts) that it was a full-on “revolt,” with some members threatening to leave and sit as Independents.

On the record, though, Grit MPPs have downplayed what happened in the room. Sources with direct knowledge tell me it wasn’t so much a dramatic uprising as it was a cold calcu…
