It’s shaping up to be another newsy constituency week break. There’s no debates, committees or law-making happening in the House, but there’s still plenty of action around Queen’s Park. Here’s what you need to know.
— ROMAN AT THE GATES: Don’t call it a comeback just yet. ROMAN BABER has returned to the political arena — and this time he’s vying for the federal Conservative nomination in York Centre in the hopes of unseating Liberal YA’ARA SAKS.
It’s early days. There’s no timeline for the nomination race, let alone an election date, but Baber is the first out of the gate, saying he knows and loves “every corner of York Centre” — his old stomping grounds as PC MPP.
It’s not his first rodeo. Baber repped York Centre for the PCs from 2018 up until he was booted from the government benches for speaking out against Covid restrictions in 2021. He leaned into the anti-lockdown crusade as an Independent and during his subsequent bid for federal Conservative leade…
