The House may be quiet during this constituency week break, but DOUG FORD continues to deliver attention-grabbing pressers. Before we dig in, another poll suggests the Premier is sitting pretty with the electorate — but mounting tensions with his federal Conservative cousins remains a wild card.
POLL WATCH — Fresh polling from the Angus Reid Institute suggests support for Ford is holding steady, but only from one-in-three Ontarians.
By the numbers: Ford clocked in at 34 per cent approval — the same rating the pollster found in its last quarterly update. Ford ranks third-to-last out of all his fellow first ministers, followed by Quebec’s FRANCOIS LEGAULT and New Brunswick’s BLAINE HIGGS.
“Ford and his Progressive Conservatives will hope that getting it done will help to boost his stagnant personal approval rate, which hasn’t exceeded its current 34 per cent mark since September 2022,” the pollster said.
