VACCINES FOR TEENS — When pressed by reporters on the possibility of making the Covid vaccine mandatory for eligible kids in schools, CHRISTINE ELLIOTT said the province will look at “anything” to protect people. The Health Minister also noted that they’re waiting on approval for Pfizer’s shot to be administered to kids aged five to 11.
And while Elliott pumped up the vaccination rates for those 12 to 17, the numbers also show that school-aged children now account for the highest share of Covid cases of any demographic in Toronto. Caveat: Most infections are still being tied back to household transmission — not classroom outbreaks.
