It’s shaping up to be a busy weekend on the political front. Here’s what’s happening:
Kicking it all off is a Friday morning presser from the Premier — on BONNIE CROMBIE’s turf.
8:30 a.m.: DOUG FORD is in Mississauga with Solicitor General MICHAEL KERZNER. The pair will take questions from reporters.
For Crombie and fellow Liberal leadership contenders NATE ERSKINE-SMITH, YASIR NAQVI and TED HSU, it’s crunch time.
Between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, as many as 103,000-plus card-carrying Grits will cast in-person ballots for their next leader (internally, they’re expecting just over half to show up).
All campaigns are going full-tilt on the get-out-the-vote efforts, with Erskine-Smith and Naqvi joining forces to try and sideswipe Crombie from securing a first-ballot win. With the new one-member-one-vote system, it’s still anybody’s game.
