First in Observer — STRANGE BEDFELLOWS — ZEESHAN HAMID’s political past is coming back to haunt him.
The Tories byelection contender in Milton was forced to play defence as details of his past involvement in Liberal land continue to raise eyebrows around the Pink Palace.
That includes seeking the federal Liberal nod to run in 2015 and donating $3,406 to the provincial Grits since 2020 — including $950 for STEVEN DEL DUCA’s leadership campaign. Hamid was also listed as a delegate for Del Duca during the 2020 leadership contest. Some Tories weren’t happy about the fact that Liberal MP ADAM VAN KOEVERDEN had endorsed Hamid’s unsuccessful bid for mayor.
“How bizarre,” one insider texted. “I don’t understand how they could nominate a Trudeau liberal lol…I think they rushed this Milton candidate thing.”
