PEEL BACK — Yesterday, we told you that local politicos at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario’s conference were buzzing about the possibility that the Ford government could backtrack on its move to dissolve Peel Region and make Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon standalone cities.
Blame Brampton: Today, more politicos are pouring cold water on the notion. And they’re blaming folks from political circles in Brampton — which claims it’s owed big bucks in the breakup — for fuelling the rumour mill at AMO.
“There’s an old political saying: Those who know, don’t say anything. Those who don’t know, say a lot,” said one insider with first-hand knowledge of the dissolution process.
