If you don’t like a Ford government policy, just gripe about it and wait five minutes. Odds are you’ll get a reversal, like many others — including the latest: a U-turn on those transit changes that would have cut service on the UP Express line.

Skkrt! Following blowback — and thousands of signatures — from folks in Toronto’s west end, Transportation Minister PRABMEET SARKARIA said he’s directed Metrolinx to ditch plans that would have reduced the frequency of trains between the Bloor and Weston stations that many city dwellers use to commute daily, even if they’re not going to and from the airport.

The idea was to provide “a faster option for people travelling between Union and Pearson,” but Sarkaria said he’s heard riders’ concerns loud and clear.

As for Highway 413, which got the green light after the feds scrapped their impact assessment that was holding up construction: Sarkaria says construction could start as soon as 2025.
